With the new interface of the rewritten Finance module in 2023, CTS found a discrepancy where, if the Year-End utility (which closes the current fiscal year and opens the next) is run on a day other than the first day of the new year, the beginning balances would pull from the date it was ran on, leading to some starting balances to be incorrect. A fix was identified and released shortly after on 12/11/2023.
Though CTS encourages all Shepherd's Staff users to regularly check for updates and keep all software on their computer up-to-date, it is especially important that those currently using the 9.0 version of Finance to check and download updates before closing their fiscal year.
If the release is installed before the year-end processes are finished in Shepherd's Staff, users shouldn't experience any issues with beginning balance calculations.
If the year-end utility is run without the 20231211 feature pack, users can check for updates, reopen the prior year and simply run the year-end utility again.
