Quick Add for Visitors [Legacy]

Sometimes quickly adding a visitor is all that you need to do in Shepherd’s Staff. A feature in both Membership and Attendance allows you to do this. This window is a form that requires only a first and last name, though other information can be added like children, contact information, and a note.

In the Membership module, the form can be opened by the toolbar and menu drop-downs. In the Attendance module, the form is opened when you are entering attendance into a batch.

Here is how to use the Quick Add for Visitors tool in Membership:

  1. In the top menu bar, click “Records” > “People” > “Quick Add for Visitors”. (Alternatively, you can click on the down arrow next to the “+P” icon in the top menu, and select “Quick Add for Visitors”.)
  2. Enter the information for the visitor.
  3. When you are done, click “OK”.

Here is how to use the Quick Add for Visitors tool in Attendance:

  1. While you are entering attendance, click the “Add a Visitor” button.
  2. Depending on the subgroup selected, you may see a message asking if you would like to switch to the “All People” group. Click “Yes”.
  3. Enter the information for the visitor.
  4. When you are done, click “OK”.

  • It would be really nice if we could add dates in a field on the 'add a visitor' screen and be able to pull a report of visitors from the date field, which would include contact info. You'd have a 'visitors report' for a certain date, for example. I know dates could be added to 'notes' but then you'd have to pull a visitors report and cull that information. We do that manually now.
